Helen Windsor and Eccup 10

Last Wednesday, eight Spenborough atheletes competed in a local race the 'Helen Windsor 10k'. This year the course had been slightly altered, supposedly making it a a faster course. However, I think the genreal opinion it wasn't. This is normally a tough course! With the hills around Stainland!

First home for Spen was Kevin 'Race Machine' Ogden, in 7th place, 36:03.
Running very well at the moment, Gerard Skippings, in 14th place in a time of 37:43.
Then, Richard Lee in 55th place with a time of 43:09. Newcomer to the club, Samantha was the first lady home for Spen in 92nd postion in a time of 47:37.
Stalwart Jackie Carter - 116th place - 50:34.
Samantha's husband Alex, anthoer new signing to the Club; finished in a time of 51:42, postion 127. With Hazel Pike chasing him in , 128th position, 51:47. Elizabeth Bottomley next in 159th position with a time of 56:41.

Eccup 10m
12 Spen athelets, tuned out for the Eccuip 10 mile. With most of whho had raced mid week. Conditions were good on the day. I had forgotten how hilly this course was. It's funny how our mind's let us block out the hilly bits. We had Anthony Bradford first home for spen just over the hou. Closely, followed by Gerrard next home was Dean Pearce in 67 minuetes. Next home was Ian 'Oggy' Ogden in 71 minuetes. Then just over minuete behind him was Grshsm Walsh in 72 minuetes. Then Samantha had a goof run in 78 minuetes! I was next, home in 83 minuets. Just over a minuete behind was Katrina; another newcomer to the club in 84 minuetes. With Hazel also 84 minuetes. Then Elizabeth, 92 minuetes having thrown the towel in at 7 mile. Last but not least, Kate Williams new girl in a time of 105 mins.

Well done to everybody who turned out for the club! It's nice to see Spen colours out in force!!!
